Please notify the residents and remind them once again to not drive through these areas. When we were working there the other day we did have one resident move our cones and proceed to drive through the wet seal. Hopefully we wont have a repeat of this tomorrow. Also, please remind everyone to shut off their irrigation systems. All of the areas to be sealed tomorrow will be in the Pheasant View sub and are as follows: Crowndale Lane: Lots 158-162, 148-155, 129-125, 83-87, 78-82 Windridge Lane: Lots 15-22, 27-34 Overhill Lane: Lots 65-69, 39-45 Stonebridge Way & Stonebridge Court: Lots 13-15, 105-113, 94-104, 77-72 The way the sub is laid out this should not put anyone in the position of having to walk too far to get to their homes. We will be putting out signs this afternoon warning everyone that we will be working in their area tomorrow. 8/12/10 We need your help please! I just heard from Dave at Al's Asphalt and his crews are out prepping the area today for the seal coating. Apparently the weeds between the street and curb have enjoyed this humid weather we have been having and have sprouted up everywhere. It would really help them out and produce a better product for all of us if the homeowners could help us out in the next day or two and remove the weeds between the curb and street in front of their property. These weeds have to be removed and it will be more timely and cost effective if the homeowners could take a few minutes to remove them. Also, it is very important that you restrict your watering to between 10:00 PM and 5:00 AM as the seal coat must be applied to dry pavement to be effective. Thanks! 8/11/10 Seal coating delayed again. Some small work areas (Glengarry, entrances, small sections) will be done on Friday. You will be contacted directly if work will be done in front of your driveway and will not do the work at this time if it will create a problem. The tentative plan is to resume next week on Tuesday, August 17. 8/9/10 Seal coating start delayed until THURSDAY, AUGUST 12 due to weather. Some smaller areas will be done on Friday as well. You may see workers doing prep work on Tuesday. They will skip Wednesday so that they do not interfere with garbage pickup. Work will begin in Pheasant View. PLEASE talk to your neighbors and make sure that everyone knows that they cannot run sprinklers after 5:00 AM on work days and that they cannot park in the streets. Thank you for your cooperation! 8/6/10 Street seal coating! Please read this to avoid damage to your cars and driveways!
Details
Please check here often as more detailed information will be posted when it
is available. 7/28/10 Paving begins on Canton Center / Summit Parkway As part of the Canton Center Road widening project, crews will begin paving the west side of Canton Center Road from Cherry Hill Road to Palmer Road on Thursday, July 29. Paving is anticipated to be completed by Friday, August 6. During this time, access to Summit Parkway will be closed and intermittent lane closures will take place along Canton Center Road. Motorists are advised to use Heritage Park Drive and Civic Center Drive to access Pheasant Run Golf Course, St. Joseph Mercy Health Center and Canton's Summit on the Park. Please drive safely through the construction area and follow all posted speed limits and detours. For the latest information on the Canton Center Road Reconstruction Project visit www.canton-mi.org. July 31, 2010 -- Seal Coating Seal coating rescheduled to begin August 9 between 8 AM and 4 PM with a 5 day duration (weather permitting). Your cooperation with this process will be critical. It will be extremely important that no one drive on sealed surfaces until they are dry and that people do not park in areas that are to be sealed the next day. The sealer will damage auto paint and permanently mark driveways. Dry time will be approximately 3 hours. It will also be important that irrigation systems or zones that may wet the pavement be turned off on the day the seal coat is applied. During this process, roads will be closed a 1/2 length section at a time. It is not possible with this process to do single lane closures as the material will be sprayed from a large tank truck with 9 sprayers. This site will be updated with detailed schedule information as soon as it is available. July 14, 2010 -- Tree trimming Horizon Lawn Care of Canton was hired by Al's Asphalt to trim trees damaged by the paving equipment. They were out today. Small branches were trimmed. Minor scrapes were sprayed with tar. Branches with major scrapes or breakage were removed if they were dead or if they would cause potential problems in the future. July 1, 2010 -- Schedule updates Here is the latest. All of the big mill & patch areas in the Pheasant View and Fairway Pines will be paved by Friday evening with the exception of Brookmill Court which has not been milled and will be done with the next mobilization. The exact date of milling for Fairways is not yet scheduled, but will be posted when available. Notices will be hand delivered to the people a few days before remobilizing for the balance of the paving. IT IS CRITICAL THAT PEOPLE DO NOT PARK IN THE STREETS IN AREAS WHERE WORK IS SCHEDULED! Al's will be on site this Friday replacing the crosswalks, the small removal and replacement areas and the curb patch areas. They are scheduled to be back on site Wednesday July 7th to mill and patch all of the small longitudinal crack areas as well. They will hold off on seal coating until all of the paving is complete. Because of the type sealer being used, they prefer to get it all at once and start applying it immediately as opposed to keeping it stored for a period of time. It makes for a better finished product. There will be no street parking when seal coating is scheduled. June 30, 2010 -- Schedule change Al's Asphalt has informed us that they will not be able to mill and resurface in Fairways subdivision until late next week. The mill and paving in Pheasant View and Fairway Pines should be completed this week. Continue to check here for updates as we will be informed of the new dates just prior to their return. There will also be notices posted here prior to seal coating in all three subdivisions. June 29, 2010 -- Garbage & Tar Please put your garbage out on your regular collection day. The township and Canton Waste have been notified of the street repairs. CWR will make a best effort attempt to work around construction sites. If necessary, they will return later in the day for pickup. Although it is not anticipated, If there is some reason that pickup will be delayed to another day on one or more streets, it will be posted here. Tar will be wet for about 1 hour after it is put down. PLEASE DO NOT DRIVE OVER WET TAR ONTO YOUR CEMENT DRIVEWAYS or there will be permanent tire marks. It is OK to drive out over the tar onto asphalt where it will not show. You may park in the street where there is no work being done while the tar dries. Pheasant View will have the milled areas paved tomorrow while milling begins in the other two subdivisions. June 25, 2010 -- What to expect With major road repairs beginning in the Pheasant View subdivision on June 29 and then moving to the two other subs in PRRMA, it is good to know what to expect. On June 29, the milling, patching and paving will begin. A new type of seal coat will be applied later and more information about that will be posted before that work is to begin. For the milling, patching and repair areas, check the markings on your streets and the detailed maps below. It is very important that no one is parked on the streets where equipment needs to get through or work needs to be done. For the areas to be milled, here is a note from the engineer at Spalding DeDecker regarding what to expect:
June 24, 2010 -- Date change There has been a date change for when there is to be no on-street parking. It is now scheduled for Tuesday, June 29 to Thursday, July 1. Please do not park in the streets on those days and be sure that your guests, delivery people, contractors, etc. do not park in the streets either. Of course, the schedule is still weather dependent and is subject to change should conditions warrant. Please continue to check this site for updates! June 22, 2010 PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN THE STREETS NEXT WEEK! As you have undoubtedly noticed, cement repairs are continuing in our subdivision this week. Please remember to turn off any irrigation systems for 3 days after cement is poured to ensure proper curing. Also, if the repair is to your driveway or curb, please do not drive on it for a minimum of 5 days. Next week, street repairs begin. According to Als Asphalt Paving Company, next Monday, June 28 through Wednesday, June 30 will be critical days for no parking on the streets. PLEASE DO NOT PARK anywhere near any of the areas that have markings on the road. Once the areas are paved and rolled near your home, normal parking can resume. To see exactly what work will be done near your home, please check the "Detail Map" document links below. We will be posting another notification from Als Asphalt before any of the sealcoating is to be done. If you did not receive the letter from Al's Asphalt in the bright yellow bag explaining what to expect, you can read it here. The schedule is weather dependent and is subject to change should conditions warrant. June 16, 2010 -- Cement work Cement work that has been started will be finished and cleaned up by the end of the day tomorrow. No new work will begin until next week. If your home is having a curb replaced, please do not drive on that curb for 7 days after it is poured. Driving across these areas will cause premature failure and cracking, so your cooperation with this request is greatly appreciated. In addition, please keep all irrigation systems turned off while this work is in progress in order to allow proper curing of concrete. Thank you!!! June 15, 2010 -- Maps & Details If you are trying to find out about 2010 road and sidewalk repairs in the Pheasant View Roadway Maintenance Association (PRRMA) district, you have come to the right place! As work progresses, we will try to keep you as informed as possible. As you may have noticed, sidewalks and pavement have been marked for repairs. Sidewalk demolition is starting today and the repairs should take 3-5 days depending upon weather. Milling and pavement work is targeted to start the week of June 28. Crack sealing and seal coat work will be done after the paving is complete. Work may take place any time between 7am and 7pm seven days a week. It is hoped that all work will be completed around August 7. Many people have been asking for details regarding the markings on the streets and sidewalks. The attached .pdf files are detailed maps of the subdivisions showing the types of repairs to be done. May, 2010 -- Planning It is that time of the year when homeowners and visitors to our subdivisions of Fairway Pines, Fairways, Pheasant View and Summit Parkway will notice paint markings on the roadways and sidewalks. These markings are a result of engineering evaluation by the engineering firm of Spalding DeDecker Associates as authorized by Pheasant Run Road Maintenance Association (PRRMA) for the 2010 year roadway repair. The engineering documents have been prepared and have been sent to a number of contractors to bid on the required repairs, as identified by the roadway paint markings. A pre-bid meeting is being held on May 12, 2010 with the contractors, Spalding DeDecker Associates and PRRMA representatives. Bids from the contractors are due by May 19, 2010 and the PRRMA board will review them on May 25, 2010. This roadway repair activity for 2010 has been authorized by PRRMA as part of their responsibility to maintain roads and other infrastructure items. Funding has been set aside in reserve by PRRMA during the past years to accomplish this repair activity. |
